Modern Backlit Screen
Say goodbye to plugging in worm lights or trying to find the perfect spot in the sun in order to be able to see your game boy advance screen clearly! This console has been fitted with a Hispeedido V5 IPS Backlit screen. This screen has improved pixel resolution, whilst maintaining the same size and aspect ratio as the original screen (no distorted / stretched images):
- 720x480 display resolution. HD LCD. 9 pixels to 1 pixel. Integer scaling. No distortions.
- Wide View angle up to 178 degrees.
- Built-in OSD Menu.
- Retro pixel Effects: Normal, Retro pixel (like original AGS-101 LCD), Scanline 1 and Scanline 2.
- 15 brightness levels.
- 8 color modes.
- FRM On/OFF function(Frame blending On/OFF) is included. For a small number of games, the image effect will be better when FRM is turned on. For most games, there is no need to turn on FRM function. By default, FRM is OFF.
- Touch Screen to change the brightness and the color modes.
To activate the on-screen menu and change the settings:
- Press the Select+L+R buttons for 1 second at the same time, then release the buttons to activate the OSD Menu.
- Press the Select button to select the adjustment item when OSD Menu activated.
- Press the L or R button to adjust the item when OSD Menu activated.
Clicky Triggers
The original trigger buttons (L & R) on a Game Boy Advance console are a little spongy. On this console, those triggers have been replaced with tactile buttons that give a much more satisfying 'click' when pressed.
Power Cleaner Mod
The power cleaner mod is a small mod developed by Helder's Game Tech. It is designed to smooth out some of the additional noise created by modern IPS screen upgrades, reducing some of the crackle and hiss coming from the speaker / headphones.
Audio Amp & Speaker Upgrade
Another mod from Helder's Game Tech. This mod creates a significant increase in the sound volume output from this console. Additionally, a 2W uprated speaker has been installed to take advantage of the new power levels provided by this audio amp upgrade.
Uprated Capacitors
At over 20 years old, it is not uncommon for the larger capacitors in the GBA console to begin to fail, leading to reduced audio volume, or even fail completely, potentially leading to a non-working console.
Rather than just replace with like for like, I have gone one step further and replaced the aging, original capacitors with uprated tantalum capacitors as recommended by Helder's Game Tech. These capacitors are not only longer lasting and more reliable, but they help to smooth out additional noise (hum, hiss and crackle) that is generated by the installation of additional mods such as IPS screens and audio amp mods.
Glow In The Dark Shell
This console has been fitted with a clear blue shell which glows a luminous green colour in the dark. Complemented with black buttons and side trim, and rear label.
