A premium, custom built, Pikachu themed Game Boy Advance console - the perfect gift for any retro gaming / Pokémon fanatic.

This build is themed around the Pokémon character Pikachu and is a great addition to any Pokémon fan's collection!

Screen Type

This console features a modern backlit screen meaning gone are the days of trying to find a spot in the sun or having to use a worm light to see your screen clearly. You have a choice of two screen types for your build, please select the option you prefer from the options menu:

3.0 IPS

The 3 inch IPS screen has the following features:

  • Built-in OSD Menu.
  • 3 display modes: Normal, Other, Point to Point (gives a pixel effect similar to how the original GBA screen looked).
  • 15 brightness levels.
  • 4 color modes.
  • FRM On/OFF function(Frame blending On/OFF) is included. For a small number of games, the image effect will be better when FRM is turned on. For most games, there is no need to turn on FRM function. By default, FRM is OFF.

There are 2 ways to activate the on-screen menu and change the screen settings:

Buttons (if installed)*

- Press the Select button for 2 seconds to activate the OSD Menu.
- Press the Select button briefly to select the item to adjust.
- Press the L or R button to adjust the value of the selected item.
- Press the SELECT button for 2 seconds to dismiss the menu, or don't press anything for a few seconds and it will automatically dismiss.

Touch (if installed)*

Tap the center of the Game Boy Advance logo at the bottom of the screen to cycle through the brightness levels.
To activate the menu:
- Tap and hold your finger on the center portion of the Game Boy Advance logo at the bottom of the screen until the menu shows up.
- Tap and hold your finger on the center portion of the Game Boy Advance logo at the bottom of the screen for a couple of seconds to change the selected menu item.
- Tap and release on the center portion of the Game Boy Advance logo at the bottom of the screen to toggle through the options for the selected items.
- The menu will automatically dismiss after a few seconds with no input.

ITA TFT

This screen is the same screen as used in the lower half of a Nintendo DSi. It has the same resolution as the original Game Boy Advance screen, retaining that retro pixel feel. It has the following features:

  • Built-in OSD Menu.
  • 10 brightness levels.
  • FRM On/OFF function(Frame blending On/OFF) is included. For a small number of games, the image effect will be better when FRM is turned on. For most games, there is no need to turn on FRM function. By default, FRM is OFF.
  • X and Y position adjustment.

- Press the SELECT button for 2 seconds to dismiss the menu, or dont press anything for a few seconds and it will automatically dismiss.

Touch (if installed)*

Tap on the center of the top of the console, just next to the link port, to cycle through the brightness levels.
To activate the menu:
- Tap and hold your finger on the center of the top of the console until the menu shows up.
- Tap and hold your finger on the center of the top of the console for a couple of seconds to change the selected menu item.
- Tap and release on the center of the top of the console to toggle through the options for the selected items.
- The menu will automatically dismiss after a few seconds with no input.

*Screen Control:

You can choose whether to have buttons only, touch only or both options installed for controlling your screen:

Buttons Only: Some people do not like the touch sensor as it can sometimes randomly trigger screen brightness to adjust by itself if you hold the device a certain way. If you choose this option, I will not install the touch sensor, I will cut it from the screen ribbon so that it does not interfere.

Touch Only: With this option, I will install the touch sensor, but I will not install the extra wires for the SELECT, L and R buttons, so you will not be able to control the screen settings with these buttons and must do so via the touch sensor. Some people like this option because certain games require the same combination of SELECT, L and R and it can be annoying to inadvertently trigger the screen menu during gameplay.

Both: Select this option to have the screen settings accessible via the touch sensor and via the SELECT, L and R buttons.

Optional Additional Mods

USB-C Rechargeable Battery Add-On

A rechargeable battery pack is installed into the battery compartment, providing hours of battery life without the need to stock up on disposable batteries.
The battery can be charged via a USB-C cable and you can play and charge at the same time. A specially moulded battery cover is fitted which allows access to the USB-C port without the need for removal in order to connect the charging cable.

Audio Amp + New Speaker

This option adds an additional audio amplifier which significantly increases the console's sound volume. Additionally, an uprated speaker is fitted which is better suited to handle the extra volume provided by the audio amp module.

Tactile 'Clicky' Triggers Upgrade

Replace the original mushy feeling trigger buttons with ones that have a much more audible 'click' when pressed.
